The Development Authority of the City of Milledgeville and Baldwin County serves as our community's primary agency for industrial recruitment and manufacturing job development. It further administers programs, projects, and activities which enhance Milledgeville and Baldwin County as a place to live and work.

The Authority is chartered under Georgia State Law as a Statutory Authority. It is a joint authority serving both the City and the County. The Authority consists of an all-volunteer nine-member board. This is comprised of four appointed members by the City, four appointed members by the County, and one joint appointment. Authority activities are accomplished via an annual operating budget funded on a 50/50 basis by the City and County governments. Additional program funds are received via local option sales tax revenues, grants, and property sales.

The Authority owns and manages a 500 acre Industrial Park and has a completed 60,000 square feet industrial “Spec Building”. The Authority provides services to stimulate economic development and assist the development process. Many different programs are offered to facilitate and encourage development in Milledgeville and Baldwin County. There are also organizations that assist in accessing programs and services to enhance business expansion and/or relocation with the Authority. Business and industry clients and prospects receive assistance in many areas, including but certainly not limited to the following:

• Low-cost financing
• Prepared building sites
• Industrial park management
• Available industrial buildings
• Ad Valorem tax liability
• Government permitting/approval process
• Temporary office space

Board meetings are held monthly, generally on the fourth Monday at 5:30 PM at the Chamber of Commerce Board Room.
